Forget-Me-Not Charm

Our Forget-Me-Not charms, are bright and pretty, and for every purchase we donate £1 to Alzheimer’s UK.

It is believed that Forget-Me-Nots were first given this name in Medieval Germany, as a knight gave these flowers to his lady love before going off to war.

Today they symbolise love for someone lost and also are used as a powerful emblem by the charity Alzheimer’s Society.

Years ago my dad would go for walks with a small group of men from the church that he and mum attended. One of these was a kind man who was the father of a school friend of mine.

After a while Dad’s Parkinson’s made it too difficult for him to go on these walks, and his friend began to show signs of dementia.

This has inspired me to make this charm in memory of my school friends dad, and in memory of this friendship.

Made from turquoise coloured epoxy clay, these flowers have been made from start to finish by myself.

Finished with resin paint and semi gloss vanish.
