The Jewellery

At Robin’s our jewellery is made from UV resin and epoxy clay.

I currently use bought in moulds, and some items are straight forward castings from these.

(Many of these moulds are from independent makers, so I feel there is a support chain created here).

A small amount of items are made from my own moulds, including the small boat studs in Rio and Solent , and Porthmeor and Beach Huts.

The art comes from choosing colour combinations and adaptations and amalgamations of moulds.

It’s fun working out what might go with what to make to make a new design.

I also add hand painted/moulded elements to some designs, e.g, with the lemon/orange slices in the Amalfi/Seville collection, where the inside of the fruit and the juicy drips are not present in the mould and I add these by hand.

It has taken time to learn the skills to make these look professional, and I am a bit of perfectionist.

I will never sell anything that I wouldn’t be happy to wear, in fact I try all the earrings out to see how they look, feel, and hang.

As the business progresses, I plan on designing and making more of my own moulds, so that you will be able to purchase Robin’s exclusives, not only made in house but designed in house too.

I love a big statement, but understand that there are some environments and situations, where this isn’t appropriate, such as a work environment, and that’s why, where I can I make both a large and small option for the designs. That also enables those who like to express themselves in a more subtle way to, hopefully, be able to find something to their liking at Robin’s.

I always start with large earrings, however, pendants and studs and brooches almost always follow. Sometimes studs and brooches are a little bit tricky, due to the design but I always try.

I frequently add new designs and additions to existing collections.

I can’t wait to share some of these exciting things with you in the future.

So keep your peepers peeled.
